I've been looking into solar power and incorporating it into a plane lately as they spend their working hours in the air very high up above the clouds therefor are exposed to alot of direct bright sunlight. Here is one modern concept i came across.

Folding Snowboard
This is the outcome of my A level project. I tested it at sheffield ski village for my folder work but never used it on real snow. So, exited as ever when snow finally arrives in the UK i couldn't wait to get out on it and see how it performs on real snow!
It worked well and is still in one piece! However i couldn't seem to turn it properly as the board wasn't waxed and the snow wasn't piste snow and it was quite icy and lots of grass lumps..any excuse eh?

Self Driving Vehicle Creates Comfortable Space For Traveling
Tommaso Gecchelin has designed a futuristic transport
concept that combines several modules to get more spacious and comfortable
space when travelling, Next Modular Self Driving Vehicle. Studies prove, that
self-driving vehicle is considered to be 99% safer than human driving and much
cheaper, if compared to human driven taxi. The interior design of the vehicle
inspired by origami form enables you to construct multiple configurations,
depending on your needs, from conventional chair to relax to a chair with table
tray. It is fitted out with a custom app for you to control such options as
destination, combination, speed limit and others
Robot Suitcase Follows You During A Journey
The suitcase that follows you at a permanent distance during
your journey. The Hop is a new prototype suitcase, which has receivers that
communicate with your smartphone to keep your luggage rolling along with you —
hands free. A micro-controller counts the suitcase’s position
relative to the phone, and keeps the case moving on its caterpillar tracks
based on compressed air.In case the signal is lost the suitcase locks itself
and a vibration is sent via the phone to alert the user. It is possible to
program the bags to follow one another or to be controlled together by any
staff, handling your luggage.
AbleNook portable dwelling
AbleNook is a flexible and mobile emergency housing system
that would provide families with dignity and privacy during a natural disaster. Its designed by Sean Verdecia and Jason Ross.
I thought this would make a good portable holiday home instead of towing a caravan for example.
Different takes on Folding and Portable Bike Design
These are a few interesting examples of very different approaches and designs to the current market for a folding or portable bike generally for commuting made faster and easier and much more relaxing!

Stowboard
The Stowboard is a folding skateboard designed for getting around on pavements/ roads faster than you would by walking.
TWIKE
The TWIKE is a hybrid vehicle powered by pedaling and by
electricity, they are built for 2 people and their cargo.
Cube Urban Street Concept Bike
This is the Cube Urban Street Concept Bike designed
by Gregor Dauth. You can fold up the full size bike to fit in a Smart
car. Continue folding it like the blades of a Swiss Army Knife and the frame
will fit into a rucksack. This bicycle concept adds an entirely new frame
philosophy to high speed bike design. The Cube Urban Street Bike Concept
ditches the seat tube and top story sections of the traditional bike
frame for this three-piece system that leaves the back wheel floating.
Just a shame the wheels don't fold in any way...

Duck inspired Design
I spotted a group of ducks whilst out in the peak...
The way the ducks neck twists round and rests in its body is a great design.
The ducks body and head shape is perfect for the water, could be good to look at for boat/ water transport design.
Ducks feet are a great design as the way they propell the duck through the water so smoothly and efficiently...
Calpe at Christmas
Here is a bit of design inspiration i found when i went climbing in Spain over Christmas...
Prickly Pear
This is a prickly pear cactus, one of many scattered around the base of a crag, making lowering off nervracking! I thought all the shapes and growth pattern on these cactus's would make a really interesting bit of architecture.
House on a hill
I spotted this house on the way to a crag called Toix West, i really like the unique design with all the squares and rectangular shapes, it looks really clean and sleak. The main thing that drew me to it was how the top level petrudes quite a way out of the hillside which gives it a really individual extravagant look.
Red Robin
This is a friendly little Robbin which was hopping around me whilst i was sat eating my sandwich at the bottom of the crag. This drew me to look at its legs and feet which support a rather large body proportion wise. Perhaps the structure of these would be useful for something in the design world? not sure what yet...
